The Lord gave and the Lord has taken away. Blessed be the name of the Lord." Job 1:21
Please keep my sister & her family in your prayers as she is suffering a miscarriage this week. She will undergo outpatient surgery on Thursday. Many of you who read this blog understand firsthand the pain of fertility issues. Though my sister has two beautiful children, the loss of a child, at any stage, is painful indeed.

Cannot blog...

Must play TETRIS!!!

I've never really been into video games... but, I gotta say- I love me some Tetris! It's the most addictive game EVER! Great thing to keep your mind busy. Once we bought the kids a game system for Christmas and Todd & I overtook it... he playing golf... me Tetris. We wore the cords out jerking the console back & forth. Last year for my birthday Todd got me a new game system (a cheap one) and it never worked. I found it all boxed up to send back in the garage last week... my birthday is in DECEMBER... he never sent the stinkin' thing back. Well, I Googled "free Tetris" the other day and found a site and now... the kids are cooking their own dinner, the laundry is piling up, the cats are unfed because I'm hooked again. Sometimes while working I have to get a hit and play a quick game. So, if I don't answer the phone... if I don't show up to pick my kids up from swim lessons... if it's 1:00 in the morning and my kids are still up... it's because I'm glued to my computer being a video game JUNKIE!

My First Dream

I dream just about every night. Recurrent themes in my dreams usually revolve around tornadoes & waves... wonder what that means? The most recent dream I really remember was the other night... I dreamed I had found John Mayer's knit hat after a concert... it was gray and had a hole in it on the side and I kept smelling it... weird. Well last night I had my first dream about our adoption. Which is very strange since we've been working at this for almost 3 years. In my dream we were getting our referral. It came in an envelope. It had a little black & white picture up in the left hand corner of the papers as I unfolded them, and I was straining hard to see if Lilly was a baby. I really want Lilly to be a baby... like around 7 or 8 months old and definitely under a year when we pick her up. Seems like she didn't look like an infant, but she didn't look like a toddler either. She had hair. That's about all I remember... which isn't very exciting. I just woke up thinking, "I dreamed about our referral for the very first time."

Each month we receive an official "update" email from our Adoption Agency. In July's update they told us that this month 6 families received referrals... all girls... and from Guangdong Province. The interesting news was that all the girls came from orphanages that had never been open to International Adoption before. This is the first time any children have been matched from this orphanage. We had heard that China was going to open up some new orphanages to International Adoption, as a way to make more babies available to waiting international families, and I guess that's just what they've done.

July's Babies are HERE!

Referrals arrived while we were at Lake Russell for families logged in with the CCAA from November 8-November 14, 2005. CONGRATULATIONS to all the families who will be meeting their daughters soon! (Click HERE to see some of those baby girls.) We're 7 days closer to learning about Lilly than we were when we left for the lake... and that's a very good thing!

Happy 4th of JULY!

Hope this is a fun & safe day for everyone! We're heading to my parent's house on the lake for boating, sun & fun. We're going to try to see fireworks from the boat tonight... never attempted it before, but since we have our own boat this year instead of using my dad's... Todd's ready to try his hand at night captain! We'll have to give my dad a couple of hard lemonades before so he'll be chilled out... those of you who know my dad understand... he lives on edge... God love him!
We'll be gone camping with friends in the morning and hopefully when we get back Sunday there will be referrals to report!

Drum Roll Please

Rumor has it that July referrals are in the mail. Now the drum roll part... what will this month's cut-off be? How much closer will we get? According to those in the November waiting group, the 14th would be a "good case" senario... so come on 14th!
